Monday - Dec. 23

Starting at 1 p.m. ET, NBA Top Shot turns into Santa — keep an eye on the @Nbatopshot twitter or make sure to have notifications on your NBA Top Shot app for a shot at receiving a Moment from your Wishlist. More than $5K in Moments will be up for grabs!

The Christmas Pack Auction launches at 3 p.m. ET — trade in Rares from the 2024-25 season for a chance to secure a Pack from the Christmas Day Pack Drop.

Tuesday - Dec. 24

Score the No. 1 Serial LeBron James Supernova Rookie Moment from The King’s first career game. Starting at 3 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve, burn LeBron James Legendary Moments and finish atop the Leaderboard to win this grail.

Wednesday - Dec. 25

Happy Holidays to all who celebrate! Get ready for a special Christmas Pack drop with a twist, stocking stuffer trade-ins for Dapper credit, special Grail Season Packs and a Metallic Silver Fandom Edition Challenge after the NBA action concludes.

The Christmas Pack Drop opens at noon ET. Pack details will be revealed on December 23. Santa will be visiting #12, #25 and #2024.

At 1 p.m. ET get ready for the Stocking Stuffer Dapper Credit Challenge. For a very limited time, burn one Rare NBA Moment for $10 in Dapper credit, and burn one Legendary NBA Moment for $100 in Dapper credit. Collectors can complete the Stocking Stuffer challenges as many times as they desire.

Also on Christmas Day at 1 p.m. ET, it's #GrailSzn. Fully loaded Grail Season Packs stuffed with Deck The Hoops Legendary Moments will be available only while supplies last!

Every Set. Every Series. Rewarded

Starting in January, collectors of fully locked sets can expect airdrops whenever a new series of their set is dropping to continue building their collection at every step.

Rare and Legendary sets that are released this season will reward set holders of that same set…across all previous series. 

The following sets will have at least 1 more dedicated release this season: Metallic Gold LE, Holo Icon, Freshman Gems, Rookie Revelation, Video Game Numbers, Throwdowns, Denied! and For the Win.

Top Fans: Team & Player Leaderboards

Place among the top fans on Player and/or Team Leaderboards for a chance at exclusive Moments, packs, and/or player memorabilia! We intend to work with individual teams to also recognize top fans on a case by case basis as well.

The Top 300 collectors on Team Leaderboards will be eligible for chances to win exclusive memorabilia, including but not limited to game-worn, player-worn or game-issued team gear through a weighted draw. 

The top 5 on each Team Leaderboard will be guaranteed to earn exclusive and authentic game-worn memorabilia. The snapshot for the top 5 will occur at the end of the last game of the NBA regular season.

Top collectors on Player Leaderboards will also be able to earn Honors and Hardware Moments as outlined below.

Throughout the 2024-25 regular season, Rookies will only have three Moments obtainable in pack drops. These Moments will live in the Common Rookie Debut set, Rare Freshman Gems set, and Legendary Rookie Revelation set. In addition to these three Moments, Rookies can have one additional Rare Moment in the form of a Challenge Reward or Expert Challenge Reward. 

Additionally, there will be various paths to collecting Rookie Ultimate 1/1 Moments from the top Rookies of the 2024-25 class.

Collecting 

A top priority in the new year will be investing in the core collecting experience, ensuring that ripping packs, completing sets, stacking Moments, and sharing what's special about your collection with other fans keeps improving.

In the past 30 days we have shipped some minor improvements to the collecting experience, in the next 60 you should see many more, for example:

1. Sharing your Moment or collection link on social now shows information specific to you – instead of a generic image!

2. Under-the-hood rebuild of the pack opening experience to improve reliability and clean up the user experience, with a fresh look coming soon and many more improvements planned for next year!

3. Step-by-step revamp of the Pack Summary page to give you more options of what to do with your Moments right after you acquire them.

Finally, we have big plans for improving the core collecting experience, from tracking collection milestones to how you show off your favorite Moments. Stay tuned for official product updates and announcements, but in the meantime, here are some sneak peeks!

We've made some exciting updates to Fast Break, with an emphasis on the first time user experience and ongoing retention. Here are some of the newest upgrades and some things to look forward to:

  • First-time players can play their entire first run without Moments. This has made an immediate impact, with new players almost 3x more likely to buy Moments and continue playing
  • Fast Break is now fully on-chain and Fast Break data will be available to ecosystem partners to build upon
  • Limited time single-day mode around Christmas
  • Addition of Moment badge and set requirements for special and enhanced runs
  • Coming soon - new head-to-head game mode where collectors can challenge their friends

Trade-ins 

We have made major improvements to the trade-in experience on Top Shot. In addition to a brand new look and feel we have adjusted trade-ins to allow multiple completions and have automatic and instant delivery. 

Trade ins have resulted the burning of 485,142 Moments this season. This includes 246 Legendary Moments and 7,790 Rare Moments.
