March is one of the most fun times to be a basketball fan. As things heat up on the court, we hope you’re ready to burn, because the competition is about to get intense. The Top Shot Alumni Hoops Leaderboard, live now, invites collectors to join a progressive Leaderboard competition featuring epic prizes using Moments from 244 current and former NBA players whose alma mater is dancing. 

What can you win by climbing Top Shot’s Alumni Hoops Leaderboard? Top Shot Merch. Ticketmaster Gift Cards. Autographed NBA Jerseys. NBA Top Shot Balance. Courtside Seats to the NBA Playoffs.

Starting on March 14 and ending on April 3, NBA Top Shot collectors will be able to compete head-to-head on a Leaderboard across 6 rounds, each with distinct prizes, by burning eligible Moments in their Top Shot collection. 

‍‍Here’s how the Top Shot Alumni Hoops Leaderboard works:

  • When you burn a Moment in your collection from an eligible player, the Top Shot Score of that Moment will go on the Alumni Hoops Leaderboard.

  • Any Moment you burn between March 14 and April 3 will give you a Trade Ticket, but ONLY the Top Shot Score of the Moments from eligible players will apply to your Leaderboard Score.

  • A full list of all 244 eligible players for the Alumni Hoops Leaderboard can be found below, and shopped for here, and all of their Moments will remain eligible through all six rounds of the Alumni Hoops Leaderboard.

  • As you burn more Moments, you’ll climb up the Leaderboard, with collectors competing round-by-round for better and better prizes tied to their NBA fandom and passion for collecting on Top Shot. 

  • There are SIX ROUNDS in the Alumni Hoops Leaderboard, with Snapshots taking place at the time and date listed below. Each round has unique prizes, and as the competition progresses, it will be harder to win them.


  • When the timer expires at the end of each snapshot, burning for Trade Tickets will be briefly disabled. It will go back on minutes later, and the next round will begin.

  • Your Top Shot Score builds with each round – it does not reset. The score and Leaderboard position you have at the end of each round will remain. Anyone can jump into the action at any point in the Alumni Hoops Leaderboard between March 14, 2023, and April 3, 2023, to compete for the prizes.

The Alumni Hoops Leaderboard is NOW LIVE, and Round 1 ends on March 17, 2023 at 1pm ET. Below you’ll find details on prizes for every round and what it’ll take to win.

  • ROUND 1 CONSOLATION PRIZE: During Round 1, Every collector who burns at least 100 Top Shot Score of eligible Moments will receive a free Top Shot 50 Reveal Hot Pack, along with Trade Tickets for every Moment you burn. Top Shot 50 Reveal Hot Packs contain three Moments, including Base Set, Parallel, Spotlight Series, Throwdowns, and For The Win Moments from Series 4, as well as the small chance at a Series 1-4 Moment from a member of the Top Shot 50.

  • ROUND 1 PRIZES: At the end of Round 1, the Top 64 collectors on the Alumni Hoops Leaderboard at the time of the Snapshot will win $50 in NBA Top Shot Balance and an NBA Top Shot T-Shirt.
