Fast Break returns on opening night, Tuesday, October 20. Pick five players every game night, win nights, climb the run, and finish in the top 50 of any run to earn a spot in the Fast Break Finals, where the Classic top 10 win a seat in an NBA Finals suite.
You already watch the games. You already know which guys are cooking and which matchups are primed for instant classics. Fast Break turns all of that into something you can win.
Every night there are NBA games, you pick five players from your collection, and how they play that night decides whether you win it. Win enough nights and you take the run. Finish near the top of any run and you're playing for a seat in an NBA Finals suite.
It all tips off on opening night, Tuesday, October 20.
How it works
Fast Break comes in two formats this season, plus Historic Fast Break, and you can play them every game day
Classic is the one you know. Any Moment in your collection counts, so whether you've been collecting since 2020 or you opened your first pack last week, your lineup is ready to go.
Pro is built around what's coming next on Top Shot. Each Pro run is themed to the upcoming drops, with nights built around the sets in the next drop, so the Moments you pick up this season go straight to work. Pro runs also feature our flagship Rare and Legendary sets, like MGLE and Holo Icon (including Top Shot 50, Cosmic and Holo MMXX), plus nights for Top Shot Debut Moments and Moments with reward badges from Challenges, Leaderboards and Crafting.

Each run lasts 11 to 13 game nights, and the collector who wins the most nights takes the run.
New this season: how often you can play a player

Starting in Run 1, every Moment has a set number of uses per run. That means you'll have to think about when to play your best guys, not just whether to play them.
A Moment's uses come from its average sale price OR its tier, whichever is higher.
So a Rare that sells for $9 still gets two uses, because its tier beats its price. A Rare that sells for $75 gets three, because its price beats its tier.
The result is a game that rewards a deep collection, not just a single superstar. Your Ultimates can play every night, but the collector who knows when to roll out the Legendary and when to save it could be the one who wins the run.

Historic: pick five legends
Historic Fast Break is based on simulated games between NBA legends, built from each player's career averages, and those games play out live on a schedule, with box scores ticking up and lineups scoring in real time, just like a real slate. Picture Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson and Dirk Nowitzki all on the floor the same night.
Here's how a night works. You pick five legends from that day's simulated games, and the highest FastBreak Points total wins the night. Every legend carries a Roster Points rating, based on his career averages, and your five have to fit under a budget of 350. You can't just stack the five greatest players of all time, so the game is about finding the legend whose night is worth more than his rating.

Historic Fast Break is free to play and you don't need to own a legend's Moment to put him in your lineup. Your collection still gives you an edge, though. Own a legend's Moment and his Roster Points drop: 5% for a Common or Fandom Moment, 10% for a Rare, 15% for a Legendary and 20% for an Ultimate. That's the room you need to fit one more great player under the cap.
Take the example lineup above. Hakeem, Robinson, Dirk, Dominique Wilkins and Tracy McGrady add up to 360 Roster Points, ten over the budget. Owning a Hakeem Olajuwon Legendary knocks him from 94 down to 80, and the whole five fits at 348.
The Fast Break Finals: from your lineup to the NBA Finals

Here's the part that makes every run matter. Finish in the top 50 of any Classic or Pro run and you've punched your ticket to the Fast Break Finals, an invite-only tournament from Tuesday, March 30 to Sunday, April 11. Finish in the top 10 of the Classic Final and you've played Fast Break all the way to a seat in an NBA Finals suite.
Every run is a fresh shot at that ticket. A slow start doesn't end your season, because one hot run is all it takes to get in. Classic runs send you to the Classic Final and Pro runs send you to the Pro Final, and if you're good enough, you can qualify for both. The Pro Final plays for cash prizes, with details coming later.
If you don't make the Finals, you're still playing. An open Classic run keeps going alongside the Finals for everyone else.
