At NBA Top Shot, community is at the heart of everything we do. We know that some of the best ideas for engaging and growing NBA Top Shot come from you — the collectors, fans, and community leaders.

That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce a new way for community members to get involved.

With the launch of Community Grants, Top Shot is looking to fund and support creative and impactful community-led events and activities throughout the season.

This program provides a unique opportunity for our community members to propose ideas and receive direct financial support from NBA Top Shot.

What Is the Program?

Designed to fund events, activations, and initiatives that will help grow and energize the NBA Top Shot community, the program will provide funding for grassroots community building. From select digital events like virtual watch parties to in-person experiences at card shows or NBA games, the program encourages creative, fan-led activities that reach both new and existing collectors in new ways.

The program offers three funding tiers, allowing for a range of event sizes:

  • Common Tier: $100–$499 for smaller-scale initiatives, perfect for local meet-ups or online gatherings.
  • Rare Tier: $500–$999 for mid-sized events or targeted campaigns.‍
  • Legendary Tier: $1,000–$5,000 for large-scale, high-impact initiatives.

This tiered structure provides the flexibility to fund small grassroots efforts and larger events, ensuring everyone can make a difference.

We’ve already begun funding community grants for various NBA Top Shot cohorts, supporting a range of exciting activations. These initial events unite collectors and begin impactful community-driven experiences this season.‍

Some examples of community-funded initiatives this season have included:

  • Sending collectors to the NBA Cup
  • Top Shot Card Show activations
  • NBA IRL watch parties
  • Top Shot and NFL All Day tailgate for fans of both platforms
  • Burn events that rewarded collectors for reducing supply
  • G-League Tickets and holiday market activation
  • Pack and Moments giveaways
  • Rewarding collectors with tickets to NBA Games!

There are also more events and activations in the works for collectors to get involved in!
