The ‘23-24 NBA season is off to a Legendary start. To commemorate some of the most iconic Moments so far, we’re bringing back an old friend with a fresh new look and sound.  

Holo Icon is back, minted to just /50, giving our flagship Legendary collectibles their most limited edition and scarce treatment since Series 1 — accompanied by the Set's first Legendary Challenge (Tyrese Haliburton) and a season-long Expert Challenge (LeBron James)! 

The pre-order window is now open, ending on December 27 at Noon ET, and only 357 Packs are available for sale. Here’s everything you need to know about the first Legendary Drop of the ‘23-24 season.

Every season on NBA Top Shot features a flagship Legendary Set that captures signature plays from the league’s best players. For the ‘23-24 season, we’re tapping into two of our favorite elements of this Set from Top Shot history to create the best collectible possible. 

Holo Icon ‘23-24 features:

  • The scarcity of Holo MMXX from Series 1, with mint counts of just /50 per Moment.

This season, we’ve set aside an allotment of Moments for the Leaderboards associated with the teams and players in each Rare and Legendary drop. These draws are weighted based on your Top Shot Score. The more Top Shot Score a collector has, the higher their chance to win.

For the first Legendary Drop of the season, 1 collector in the Top 100 of each Player Leaderboard and 1 collector in the Top 100 of each Team Leaderboard will receive a Legendary Holo Icon Moment from the corresponding players in this Drop. Here are the winners.

CHALLENGE REWARDS AND EXPERT CHALLENGES

The ‘23-24 Holo Icon Set will feature 50 total Moments. Collectors can expect 5 total Holo Icon Drops during this NBA season: 

  • 4 Drops will feature 9 Moments with 1 Challenge Reward. By collecting and locking all 9, you’ll earn the Challenge Reward.

  • 1 Drop will feature 8 Moments with 1 Challenge Reward. By collecting and locking all 8, you’ll earn the Challenge Reward.

  • These 5 Pack Drops and related Set Challenges will form the distribution of Holo Icon’s first 49 Moments. By collecting and locking all 49 Moments, you’ll earn the Set’s Expert Challenge Reward — the 50th Holo Icon Moment — plus a yet-to-be-revealed special prize.

  • The Holo Icon Expert Challenge Reward (and 50th Moment) will be from LeBron James.

The first Set Challenge, Tyrese Haliburton, will go live following the conclusion of the Pack Drop on Wednesday, December 27, and run until January 2, 2024.

For the first Holo Icon Drop, collectors with the following Complete and Locked Series 4 Sets at Noon ET on Wednesday, December 27, will receive 1 Legendary Holo Icon: Release 1 Pack as a Set Reward.
