Run It Back 1986-87 is a Rare Set featuring 22 of the most important and culturally significant players from this season in NBA history.
With 20 of these Moments now available in the Marketplace following last week’s pack drop, it’s time to debut a brand new type of challenge to unlock the final two unreleased Moments.
Starting today, you can earn Dennis Rodman’s Run It Back Moment, and later this week, Larry Bird is coming to Top Shot.
Unlike other Active Challenges, participants will not need to use the Challenge Builder to qualify for the reward. Please take your time to lock the correct Moments and understand the instructions detailed below, where a snapshot will determine your eligibility. You cannot unlock a Moment once it is locked for 365 days from the date you locked it.
Here’s what you need to know about successfully participating in Lockdown Challenges to earn the final 2 Moments in our Run It Back tribute to the 86-87 season.
Dennis Rodman’s Run It Back Lockdown Challenge Reward Moment
Long before he became a five-time champion, Hall of Famer, and one of the best rebounders in league history, rookie Dennis Rodman gave the NBA a preview of things to come.
Showing early glimpses of his patented physicality and athleticism, Rodman’s Rare Rookie Top Shot Debut finds him picking off an errant Boston Celtics pass before starting a 2-on-1 fast break attack.
The seven-time NBA All-Defensive First Team selection defers to a Detroit Pistons teammate, who quickly dishes a touch pass back to Rodman, who finishes the play in style with a backboard-shaking slam.
In addition to the steal, Rodman scored three points and blocked three shots in 18 minutes of action off the bench in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 30, 1987.
The bucket from Rodman is his final made basket of his rookie season, and now you can own it.
How To Complete The Lockdown Challenge
Rather than submitting a traditional Challenge Entry, fans will need to complete this Lockdown Challenge by locking the appropriate Moments in their collections via the “Lock Moments” button in the Leaderboards tab on their profiles.

Collectors must lock any 7 UNIQUE PLAYERS from the following list of 10 eligible Run it Back 1986-87 (Series 4) Moments:

- Adrian Dantley
- Ron Harper
- Brad Daugherty
- Mark Price
- Karl Malone
- Alex English
- Dale Ellis
- Fat Lever
- Sleepy Floyd

Fans who successfully follow these Lockdown Challenge guidelines prior to 1 PM ET on Thursday, September 29th, 2022 will earn 1 Dennis Rodman Run it Back 1986-87 (Series 4) Rare Challenge Reward Moment™️ NFT.
Each of the 7 Moments locked must be DIFFERENT PLAYERS from the list of 10 above. For example, you cannot lock two Ron Harper Moments to complete 2 of the 7 requirements. You also cannot complete the challenge twice and earn two Rewards.
As a form of participating in Leaderboards and locking Sets, collectors are welcome to lock as many Run it Back 1986-87 (Series 4) Moments as they want, and may lock as many duplicate Run it Back 1986-87 (Series 4) Moments as they want; however, you WILL NOT be able to successfully complete this Challenge if you do not lock 7 different Players from the list above. Locked Moments cannot be sold, traded, gifted, withdrawn, or consumed in a Crafting Challenge for 1 year.
Lockdown Challenge Rules
- Only 1 Lockdown Challenge Entry per fan will be eligible.
- Only 1 Dennis Rodman Run it Back 1986-87 (Series 4) Rare Challenge Reward Moment™️ NFT can be won per fan.
- On Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at 1 PM ET, a snapshot will be taken. All eligible fans who complete the Lockdown Challenge prior to the snapshot will receive 1 Dennis Rodman Run it Back 1986-87 (Series 4) Rare Challenge Reward Moment™️ NFT.
- Snapshot times/dates may be extended if maintenance mode or technical difficulties prevent the Marketplace from being accessible in the final 12 hours of a Challenge.
- All eligible Challenge submissions will receive the reward via a pack. After the Challenge ends and prizes have been distributed, go to the packs tab of your profile to view the reward. Packs will be delivered within 24 hours of the end of the Challenge.
- Fans must lock the appropriate Moments for their completed Lockdown Challenge Entry BEFORE 12:59:59 PM ET on Thursday, September 29th, 2022 to ensure their submission is accepted. The time of submission is recorded at 1:00:00 PM ET on Thursday, September 29th, 2022. If fans lock the appropriate Moments after the deadline, those entries will not be accepted.
- Please make sure all Moments utilized for the Lockdown Challenge are delisted from the Marketplace before locking.
- Due to the nature of locking, if a fan locks an incorrect Moment by mistake, that Moment WILL NOT be able to be unlocked for 1 year.
- Fans can lock as many Moments as they want and Top Shot will only award 1 Dennis Rodman Run it Back 1986-87 (Series 4) Rare Challenge Reward Moment™️ NFT per fan.
