The Block & The Dagger
Two iconic NBA Finals Moments from 2016 & 2017 are coming to Top Shot.
Only /23 of “The Block” will exist, adding a signature Game 7 Block to the Anthology of LeBron James, capturing the night that the Cavaliers won their first NBA Championship and a Finals MVP was crowned.
Only /99 of “The Dagger” will exist, opening Kevin Durant’s Anthology with a smooth game-sealing triple in Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals, setting the stage for his first NBA Championship and Finals MVP.
When these two Moments were first introduced, on June 1 and the opening day of the 2023 NBA Finals, a snapshot was taken at 11 AM ET. That snapshot captured the ranking and Top Shot Score of the top 1,000 people on the Team Leaderboard of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Player Leaderboard of LeBron James, and the Player Leaderboard of Kevin Durant.
The Winners
1 LeBron James Player Leaderboard collector was randomly selected using a weighted draw from that snapshot to win a /23 Legendary Anthology “The Block” Moment, not including the #1 overall collector who already won this Moment via their placement atop the Leaderboard.
That collector is kidduke10, the #67 ranked member of the Leaderboard at the time of the snapshot! Congrats, kidduke10!
1 Cleveland Cavaliers Team Leaderboard collector was randomly selected using a weighted draw from that snapshot to win a /23 Legendary Anthology “The Block” Moment, not including the #1 overall collector who already won this Moment via their placement atop the Leaderboard.
That collector is Micky, the #138 ranked member of the Leaderboard at the time of the snapshot! Congrats, Micky!
25 Kevin Durant Player Leaderboard collectors were randomly selected using a weighted draw from that snapshot to win /99 Legendary Anthology “The Dagger” Moments, not including the #1-#25 overall collectors who already won this Moment via their placement atop the Leaderboard.

Leaderboard Weighted Draw Methodology
For these Moments, we used a Weighted Draw to select the winners. Here’s how that worked:
Each point of Leaderboard Score was equal to 1 entry into the draw.
Every Collector within the Top 1000 (excluding the guaranteed winners) was given a range based on their total Leaderboard Score.
For example, #26 on the Kevin Durant Player Leaderboard (Collector: 0xRalph) at the time of the Snapshot had a 271,645 Leaderboard Score. Meaning they represent all winning numbers between 1 and 271,645.
The next Collector, #27 (Collector: GreatDishankHunter) had a 271,602 Leaderboard Score, they own all winning numbers between 271,646 and 543,247.
The total Leaderboard Score range of the KD Player Leaderboard was 1-29,073,781.
When the winning numbers were randomly generated (using random.org, along with a human witness), we compared the winning numbers to the Leaderboard Score of each collector.
For example, the first winning number on the KD LB was 7,249,877 which equated to the 60th-ranked user "Zek."
This approach was used across all 3 Leaderboard drawings.
We couldn’t be more excited that these winning collectors will have incredible new Legendary Moments added to their collections soon!
