The W is Back. So is WNBA Top Shot.
The 2026 WNBA season tips off tonight, and there's a lot to play for.
Toronto and Portland are joining the league. Two new franchises, two new fan bases, and brand new histories starting from scratch. The first home games. The first wins. The first players to ever wear those jerseys. We're going to capture all of it.
The rookie class is loaded. Azzi Fudd. Flau'jae Johnson. Lauren Betts. Olivia Miles. A class that's been on the radar since they were freshmen. The kind of class where draft night ran out of cameras to point at the green room.
A'ja Wilson is hunting a fifth MVP. Fans are buzzing for Caitlin Clark's third season. Paige Bueckers is coming off a Rookie of the Year campaign with everything still in front of her. Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Nneka Ogwumike, the players who built the modern league are still playing the best basketball of their careers.
And there's the league itself. Thirtieth season. Storylines stacked on top of storylines.
We built the 2026 WNBA Top Shot season around all of it.
W Wednesdays: Five Drops, Built to the Rhythm of the Season

Six Wednesday drops across the season.
June 3 | Rookie Debut
First career games. First buckets. The first Moments these rookies will ever have on Top Shot, captured from their actual debut performances.
July 8 | Metallic Gold LE
The flagship Rare set. The most memorable plays from the best players in the league.
August 5 | Fresh Gems
The premiere Rare rookie set. The breakout plays that announce careers at the Rare tier.
September 2 | Holo Icon
The flagship Legendary set, dropping as the playoff race tightens. The defining plays of the 2026 campaign.
September 23 | Rookie Revelation
The crown jewel of the rookie collection. The single Legendary Moment each rookie gets all season, the play that defines their first year.
October 28 | WNBA Finals
A standalone drop reserved for the biggest stage in hoops. The plays that decide a championship, captured for the collectors who were locked in when the trophy was on the line.
What's Different This Season
We're building on the WNBA Top Shot foundation with three meaningful expansions this season. They all point at the same idea: more ways to collect, more entry points, more ceiling.
Parallels For Every Tier

Last season, parallels in the W were limited to rookies and lived in standalone sets. This year, every set has the full parallel structure that NBA Top Shot collectors have been collecting all season:
- Base Set: Standard /4000 + Club Collection /99
- Top Shot Debuts will be Standard /1000 + Club Collection /99
- Non-Base Common sets: Standard /1000 + Blockchain /99 + Hardcourt /50
- Rare sets: Standard + Hexwave /25 + Jukebox /10
- Legendary sets: Standard + Galactic /5 + Omega 1-of-1
- Ultimate sets: No parallels. True 1-of-1s
If you want a more unique, more scarce version of your favorite Moment, it's there. If you want to chase a single play through every parallel and collect the rainbow, you can. If you want the most accessible version of a rookie's first bucket, the Standard /1,000 is there. If you want to supercharge a Common set, complete the all-Hardcourt /50 version.
This is what optionality looks like in practice. Every Moment now has its own ladder. Every collector picks their rung.
Cases, Boxes, and Packs
The full ripping experience is coming to WNBA Top Shot.
Packs are the foundation. What you rip during games. Pull up Top Shot while you're watching the W on a Tuesday night, rip a few Packs at halftime, and maybe you grab an A'ja Wilson Moment while you're watching A'ja drop 30 in real time.
Boxes bundle Standard Packs with exclusive Box Toppers that guarantee better hits than any individual Pack can offer.
Cases contain Premium Packs that aren't available for individual sale, plus Case Toppers loaded with the best hits in the entire drop.
Different price points, different experiences, same product. You choose how you want to collect.
An Expanded Ultimate Tier
WNBA Signature Series (1-of-1)
Every partnered rookie this season will have a Signature Series 1-of-1 airdropped to their #1 collector on November 1. The reward for going deep on a player you believed in before everyone else did.
Throne Room (1-of-1)
Twenty Moments. Twenty 1-of-1 grails from the very best players in the W, including several stars receiving their first 1-of-1 on Top Shot.
WNBA Skyline (1-of-1)
Signature franchise victories wrapped in city identity. Every franchise gets their first Skyline Moment this season, including Toronto and Portland.
WNBA Supernova (/10)
League MVPs in their first WNBA appearances, reaching back to 1997. A thread that connects the league's founding to its 30th season.
The ceiling on a WNBA Top Shot collection is higher than it's ever been.
Autographs, Woven In
Autographs return to WNBA Top Shot, and this year they live inside the parallel structure instead of in standalone sets.
Pull a Fresh Gems Jukebox /10 from a partnered rookie and it comes signed. Land a Rookie Revelation Omega 1-of-1 and it's autographed. Chase a Rookie Debut Hardcourt /50 and you might find ink.
The rarest versions of the best rookie plays. Signed by the players who made them. Living in the sets you're already collecting.
WNBA Playoffs
The postseason is where legends get made. For the 30th season, the W's playoff run is getting a drop built for the moment.
October 28 | WNBA Finals
A standalone drop reserved for the biggest stage in hoops. The plays that decide a championship, captured for the collectors who were locked in when the trophy was on the line.
Top Shot This: WNBA Playoffs Edition
When the postseason produces a play that stops the scroll, we aren't waiting. Standard Editions minted to demand, with every pack offering a chance at six scarce parallels: Blockchain /99, Hardcourt /50, Hexwave /25, Jukebox /10, Galactic /5, and the Omega 1-of-1. The deeper the run, the bigger the Moments.
2026 WNBA Playoff Premieres
Rookies don't stop being rookies when the bracket locks. Playoff Premieres captures the best first-year performances when the lights are brightest, using the same mechanics collectors have enjoyed on the NBA side. This set will not be sold in packs. Instead, these coveted Moments will be available exclusively through Trade-Ins and Auctions.
Your collection is your ticket.
Standard editions via Trade-In using any Rare from that player; Parallels via auctions using any Moment from that player. If your rookie makes noise in October, you want to be positioned.

Set Rewards
Complete a set, earn an instantly delivered reward pack. Every completed set unlocks an exclusive reward pack filled with some of the biggest hits from the WNBA season. And once you've got that pack, it's your call what happens next.
Rip it immediately and chase the biggest Moments inside. Or hold it. Watch the rips play out. See which hits stay un-pulled for weeks, maybe months. Then you decide: sell the pack on the marketplace or rip it yourself now that your odds at the top hits may be higher.
Hold, sell, rip now, rip later. The pack is yours and so is the strategy.

Reward Pack Redistribution
The number of reward packs created for each set equals the total number of possible completions across all parallels.
If supplies allow, every collector who completed the set earns additional packs. At 50% completion, that's two packs each. At 33%, three each. At 25%, four. The math works in your favor the scarcer the completions are. If completion rates are high enough that supplies don't stretch to a full additional pack per collector, the remaining packs are distributed through a weighted draw based on locked TSS.
Set reward challenges run through November 30. To earn the additional Reward Packs, your sets must remain complete and locked. If you break the set between the initial completion date and November 30, 2026, you can re-complete and lock your sets to receive the additional packs.
Auctions and Trade-Ins
Moment auctions, pack auctions, and trade-in events will all be part of the WNBA Top Shot season. We're keeping the specifics close for now, but expect these to roll out across the season as the sets and storylines develop. When the details are ready, you'll be the first to know.
Fast Break
WNBA Fast Break returns in the same format as last season. Every Moment in your collection generates plays based on its rarity. Commons earn 1 play. Rares earn 2. Legendaries earn 4. Ultimates earn unlimited plays. No Captains this season. Serial number tie-breakers settle any deadlocks. The deeper your collection, the more shots you get.
