Friday night?

Friday night belongs to the people.

So on a nine-game night, we’re celebrating the most democratic of things -- sharing the rock. The dish. The dime. That thing your middle school coach (and Steve Kerr) said about how the ball moves faster than you can.

Or just simply, as the MVP said, making two people happy instead of one.

So for tonight’s Flash Challenge, you’ll need to make a Showcase featuring the top 6 dime droppers from Friday’s (Nov. 19) games.

The Showcase Builder will go live right after the games end, and you’ll have until 1 pm PST on Saturday, November 20 to finish. From there, if you keep your complete Showcase intact, you’ll get a Series 2 Base Set Pack. Because sharing is caring.

Top 6 Dimers:

  1. Chris Paul - 14
  2. Jalen Brunson - 10
  3. Juan Toscano-Anderson - 9
  4. Cole Anthony - 9
  5. LaMelo Ball - 8
  6. James Harden - 8

What Else Do I Need To Know?

  • We recommend using our Showcase Builder, which makes it easy to build a Showcase with the right Moments
  • You'll see the Flash Challenge go live on this page (same link as above) shortly after games end (appx 10pm PST / 1am EST)
  • As long as your Showcase is fully complete and intact by 1 pm PST on Saturday, November 20, you'll get a new pack in your collection by Friday
  • If there is a tie, we'll use tiebreakers to limit the amount of players to 6. Tiebreaker #1 will be Team Margin Of Victory. Tiebreaker #2 - Player +/-. Tiebreaker #3 - Player Time On Court.
  • If a player without a Moment yet is in the Top 6, the next player up will be eligible. (Ex: If a rookie without a Debut yet is #3, he'll be removed from the list, and #6 will become #5.)

GAME RUNDOWN

Taking a new approach tonight. In addition to the players to watch, check out a breakdown of each team matchup, featuring a few stats that speak to how likely the game is to put somebody on the leaderboard.

  • Offensive Rating: Points per 100 possessions (aka, how efficiently they get buckets)
  • Defensive Rating: Points allowed per 100 possessions (how well they stop buckets)
  • Assist %: The percent of points that come off of an assist. To show how big the span can be...the Warriors (1st at 71%) and Raptors (30th at 51.9%) have nearly a 20 percentage point spread.

Pro Tip - If you want a deeper dive, NBA.com/Stats has a great team-by-team breakdown of all stat types -- from the traditional to advanced, to the super-super advanced. One other stat to check out: Pace, which shows you the average amount of possessions per game. It’s still early, and it doesn’t tell the full story, but there’s a 7-possession difference across the whole table.
