The 2020 NBA playoffs were momentous. The bubble redefined legacies and turned upstart youngsters into stars of tomorrow.
Through the bubble, we released our first Eastern Conference Finals and Western Conference Finals Rare packs for sale. At that time, our community was exponentially smaller and we were still in the very beginning of our journey.
This early time in Top Shot was time filled with exploration and invention, and for the only time in our history we made it clear that we’d burn the leftover supply of Eastern Conference and Western Conference Finals Rare packs if they didn’t sell out.
This meant the unsold packs were never released to collectors, and once the purchase window for these packs passed, the chance to collect certain Rare Moments from these sets closed forever.
The decision to permanently destroy these unsold Moments was made based on a specific set of circumstances that existed at the time, and we are excited to make Top Shot history with you today.
Burning Rare Eastern Conference Finals / Western Conference Finals Moments
As part of our previously announced plans, we will be destroying these unsold Eastern Conference Finals and Western Conference Finals Rare Moments tomorrow. The full list of Moments that will be destroyed can be found at the bottom of this post. In total, there are 10,562 Rare Moments of players from the Eastern Conference Finals and Western Conference Finals that will be burned.
Once these Moments have been burned, there will be a display in the Collectible Details, showing how many of these Moments have been “Burned.”
