On NBA Top Shot, every Moment you collect is part of an official Series.

Simply put, a series is kind of like a season. It’s all the Moments from a given time period. And once that period is over, no new content will ever be added to the series.

Here are all the Moments from Series 1. They’re already retired. We won’t ever mint more.

Here are all from Series 2. We just retired them, too.

Our new Series, Summer 2021, started just a few days ago -- with our first three in-arena Moments, all coming from NBA Summer League.

During this post, we’ll take a deep dive into all of the epic sets that made a historic Series 2 on NBA Top Shot, to help you level up your collection:

Season Tip-Off

Drop Date: 12.30.2020

Number of total Moments: 10

The NBA season got a late start compared to seasons past, but when it got going, it started with a bang. And our first ever Season Tip-Off set captures it, with 10 moments from the first two days of the 2020-2021 NBA season.

This set brought us the first rare Challenge Reward of Series 2, featuring a monster block from Zion Williamson from the Pelicans’ season opener.

Base Set

First Drop Date: 1.13.2021

Number of total Moments: 533

The Base Set is the backbone of NBA Top Shot -- the through-line that connects a season.

Series 2 provided 533 common Base Set Moments, spread across 44 different releases. These Moments are typically what collectors start with.

Also in Series 2, we introduced Starter Packs and Booster packs, giving new users the ability to join and immediately open a pack.

One of the most iconic Moments from the Series 2 Base Set? A 3-pointer that may go down as one of the most memorable of LeBron James’ career.

Series 2 moved straight to the Legendary tier, with the holiday themed “Deck The Hoops.” Every Moment from this series is taken from the games played on NBA Christmas Day 2020.

One of the best? Steph Curry, putting his deadly floater on full display.

Cool Cats, a nod to our first product Cryptokitties, is arguably the most memorable set of Series 2. There were Challenges. There were Quests. There were Crypto Kitties loyalty rewards. There was a Master Challenge. And to commemorate the journey of Cool Cats, the Nine Lives Lounge -- one of the hottest tickets in digital fandom -- is now open to collectors who own all 30 Cool Cats Moments.

Ben Simmons gets the tip in at the buzzer in this special Quest prize, showing off some feline quickness with the put-back.

Number of total Moments: 90

Challenge Rewards: 9, Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden, Trae Young, Nikola Jokić, Tyrese Haliburton, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Luka Dončić, Ben Simmons

Legendary Moments are just that. And Holo Icon is the flagship Legendary set of Series 2. Every Moment in this set has 99 mints or less. These Moments are typically the most valuable in the Top Shot ecosystem and to collect one is a goal that collectors strive for.

There are a lot of great Legendary Moments. However, this Cole Anthony buzzer beater is a true Legendary Moment. We have a feeling that this won’t be the last game-winner from Anthony based on his rookie season where he came up clutch multiple times.

The Gift

Drop Date: 2.12.2021

Number of total Moments: 6

The Gift was exactly what it sounds like: a gift to celebrate collectors of NBA Top Shot. Each collector received a special pack with one Moment. This was the only pack in Series 2 that was provided as a gift and also proved to be the smallest set of the series, making it quite unique.

Derrick Rose, in his Knicks debut, created this Moment, dropping a sweet assist to Obi Toppin for the slam.

Seeing Stars

Drop Date: 3.5.2021

Total Moments: 27

Challenge rewards: 3, Mike Conley, Kevin Durant, LeBron James

Seeing Stars commemorated every NBA player named to the 2021 All-Star teams, with a twist. In order to earn a Moment from the captain of each team, you had to complete unique Challenges from players on each squad. With Kevin Durant and LeBron James as Challenge Rewards, this was one of the year’s most popular sets to complete.

This set also brought a historic Moment for Mike Conley in his first All-Star appearance. This was the first Moment in NBA Top Shot history that included narration from Conley about the Moment featured on the collectible.

Rising Stars

Drop Date: 3.7.2021

Total Moments: 20

Challenge Rewards: 2, Zion Williamson, Anthony Edwards

Rising Stars is a special set for a few reasons. First, it represents 20 of the best Rookies and Sophomores in the NBA, including two Top Shot debuts. Second, we worked with the NBA to have this set break the news of the Rising Stars game participants. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 this game was never played. However, the players who would’ve played in the game are celebrated in this historic set.

Anthony Edwards is capable of bringing the house down on any given night and this dunk had collectors racing to complete the Challenge that led to this unforgettable dunk.

All-Star Game

Drop Date: 3.18.2021

Total Moments: 22

Challenge Rewards: 2, Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo

The best plays from the 2021 NBA All-Star Game, coming from some of the biggest names in hoops. Stars, up and down both rosters. Highlight after highlight. The Elam Ending -- where teams play to a certain score instead of using a clock to end the game -- has made the All-Star game different from every other game, leading to one of the signature plays from this set.

How confident do you have to be to take this shot for the game? Damian Lillard’s half court splash was the exclamation point of a dominant win from Team LeBron.

You may notice that this set has five fewer moments than the Seeing Stars set. This is due to players suffering injuries or due to the COVID-19 protocol keeping them out of the game.

Marcus Smart is one of the hardest working players in the league and he puts the hustle in Hustle and Show. After a team turnover, Smart goes end-to-end to make an amazing defensive play and disrupts the play while saving it to his own teammate. Pure hustle.

Throwdowns

Drop Date: 5.10.2021

Total Moments: 51

Challenge Rewards: 5, Zach Lavine, Anfernee Simons, Hamidou Diallo, Derrick Jones Jr., Blake Griffin

Series 2 Throwdowns consisted of 51 of the best dunks of the year. A good dunk is one of the most universally beloved things in sports. This set featured a great mix of young players and veterans throwing it down.

In a set that is full of some of the year’s best slams, this one from Miles Bridges stands above the rest. The elevation, the force, the swagger. The former Lotttery pick had no fear soaring over and throwing it down on the much larger Clint Capela.

2021 NBA Playoffs

This set starts in the first round and rolls all the way through some of the biggest plays from the Finals, including Moments from superstars, starters and role players. This complete set is a piece of history that will be fun to watch and relive for years to come.

There were many amazing plays in the 2020-2021 NBA Playoffs but to see a man of Jokic’s size tossing it off the glass to himself for the easy finish is one of the most memorable. This was Jokic’s first MVP season, and he certainly showed out in the playoffs as well.

And Then There Were Four

Drop Date: 7.14.2021

Total Moments: 12

Challenge Rewards: 2, DeAndre Ayton, Khris Middleton

Aside from the amazing Pack art, this set provided the most memorable Moments from the conference semifinals. The Hawks and Clippers both put up great fights with memorable Moments but their best simply wasn’t enough to overcome the talent and toughness of the Bucks and Suns, respectively.

The Valley-Oop will be remembered by Suns fans...and Clippers fans…forever. The pass from Crowder. The timing and finish from Ayton. The eruption in Phoenix. We have a Moment of a lifetime in this one.

2021 NBA Finals

Drop Date: 7.29.2021

Total Moments: 12

Challenge Rewards: 2, Chris Paul, Jrue Holiday

The final set release of Series 2 was epic. The 2021 NBA Finals did not disappoint. After taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the series, it appeared as if the Suns would be on their way to a title. But the Bucks rattled off four straight games to secure their first NBA Championship in 50 years.

In a series full of unforgettable Moments, one of the biggest was the game-saving block by Giannis Antetokounmpo. Moments like this one are why Top Shot was created in the first place, and we can’t wait to keep sharing them with fans like you.
