BIG GAME BUTLER!
Playoff Jimmy Butler has arrived right on time — bad news for the Milwaukee Bucks. The Miami Heat star produced one of the finest performances of his legendary clutch career to put the top-seeded Bucks’ season on the ropes. The Bucks led by 14 in the fourth quarter, meaning Butler had them right where he wanted: he frequently attacked the rim and converted multiple layups and dunks, including a fast break slam following a steal in the closing minutes. Butler capped the unforgettable evening with a pair of 3-pointers on consecutive possessions that put and kept his squad in front for good in Game 4 of the First Round. The six-time All-Star erupted for a career-high and franchise playoff record 56 points — 21 of which came in the final 12 minutes — the fourth-highest total in playoff history. He shot 19 for 28 and added nine rebounds to put the Heat up 3-1 in the series, a 119-114 victory on April 24, 2023.
JIMMY FOR THE WIN!
With a game’s outcome hanging in the balance, there are few more qualified candidates than Jimmy Butler to take the big shot. Butler’s brand is as strong as ever against the Houston Rockets as he executes a perfect backdoor cut that puts himself in prime position to throw down Gabe Vincent’s alley-oop inbounds pass with 0.1 seconds left on the clock. The six-time All-Star rarely disappoints in the clutch, as his 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals helped deliver the Miami Heat a 97-95 victory on February 10, 2023.
DEFENSIVE GREATNESS FROM JIMMY!
Everybody knows Jimmy Butler can win a game with a bucket, but how about a game-saving block for good measure? The six-time All-Star came up huge on the defensive end in the closing seconds against the Phoenix Suns following a pair of Bam Adebayo free throws that gave the Miami Heat a one-point lead heading into the game’s final possession. When Devin Booker embarked on a determined drive to try to win his squad the game, Butler tracked him to the foul line and landed a clutch block on Booker’s pull-up attempt that preserved Miami’s lead. Butler posted 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in the thrilling 113-112 win on November 14, 2022. Another excellent regular season gave way to a legendary playoff run, as Butler became the first player in franchise history to post consecutive 40-point postseason games, helping the Heat become the first eight-seed to knock off a one-seed since 2012.
LEGENDARY PERFORMANCE!
Get up Jimmy! Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler catches the pass from teammate Tyler Herro before soaring for the easy two-handed slam against the Los Angeles Lakers early in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on October 3, 2020. Butler absolutely exploded in Game 3 with 40 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.
CHRISTMAS DAY BUCKETS!
When better to display your gifts than Christmas Day? In a December 25, 2015 matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler catches the ball just past halfcourt and pulls up for a deep triple before defender Kevin Durant can get within reach. Butler had a team-high 23 points to go with six boards in the win.
