Every Rookie aspires to win Rookie of the Year.
On the night of the 2023 NBA Draft, the next generation of young talent will take their first step toward the ultimate rookie accolade. At Top Shot, we’ll be documenting every step of their journey as limited edition collectibles.
On the path to Rookie of the Year, footage from tonight’s draft will become part of future Rookie collectibles, and for many members of this rookie class, a Moment from their very first game in the NBA will be celebrated as a Top Shot Debut.
With so much exciting new talent entering the league, Top Shot collectors will have the chance to earn unreleased Rookie supply from the 2021 NBA Draft class by climbing the 2023 NBA Draft Rookie Leaderboard — and your key to climbing the Leaderboard will require you to own and burn Moments of top rookies from yesteryear.
The last 4 winners of the Rookie of the Year award were Paolo Banchero, Scottie Barnes, LaMelo Ball, and Ja Morant, drafted 1st, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd overall, respectively — but their competition for the award can come from anywhere. Jalen Williams (12th Overall), Walker Kessler (22nd overall), Cade Cunningham (1st Overall), Evan Mobley (3rd Overall), Anthony Edwards (1st Overall), Tyrese Haliburton (12th Overall), Zion Williamson (1st Overall), and Kendrick Nunn (Undrafted) all finished Top 3 in Rookie of the Year voting during their respective rookie campaigns.
Right now, you can burn any locked or unlocked Rookie Moments from Paolo Banchero, Jalen Williams, Walker Kessler, Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, and Kendrick Nunn to climb the 2023 NBA Draft Rookie Leaderboard.
Every Moment you burn will also earn you a Trade Ticket, and Rookie Badge Moments across Common, Fandom, Rare, and Legendary tiers are eligible, with the Top Shot Score of each burned Moment counting towards the Leaderboard.
The NBA Draft Leaderboard will be active until Monday, June 26, at 1 PM ET. Participants in the NBA Draft Leaderboard will be eligible to win Three-Star Rookie Badge Packs, each featuring 2 Three-Star Rookie Badge Moments from the 2021 NBA Draft Class.

On average, this represents 16.6% of each player’s supply, ranging from Cade, Mobley, and Barnes, who have 8-13% of their supply unreleased, to top picks and blossoming stars like Jalen Green and Austin Reaves, who have 20-30% of their supply unreleased.
When the Leaderboard ends on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 1 PM ET, and the Reward Packs are distributed shortly after, nearly 100% of this unreleased supply will be released, fulfilling a long overdue responsibility to get these Moments into the hands of collectors.
As we work towards releasing other older unreleased Moments in Top Shot’s inventory, we’ll continue to make efforts to find thematic and relevant opportunities to do so and let collectors add new pieces to their collection in fun, competitive ways.

Every Three-Star Rookie Badge Pack contains 2 Moments from the 2021 Draft Class and will feature random combinations of the 32 total players mentioned above. In total, 9,885 Three-Star Rookie Badge Packs will be distributed at the end of the Leaderboard.
- 1st Place: 2 Legendary Rookie Revelation Packs and 40 Three-Star Rookie Badge Packs.
- 2nd Place: 1 Legendary Rookie Revelation Pack and 30 Three-Star Rookie Badge Packs.
- 3rd Place: 1 Legendary Rookie Revelation Pack and 25 Three-Star Rookie Badge Packs.
- 4th-10th Place: 20 Three-Star Rookie Badge Packs.
- 11th-20th Place: 15 Three-Star Rookie Badge Packs.
