Every NBA career starts with one basket. On October 21, the No. 2 and No. 3 picks, two of the early Rookie of the Year favourites, made their NBA debuts on the same floor in Memphis. Darryn Peterson floated in his first career basket less than two minutes into the game, and Cameron Boozer's Grizzlies outscored the Jazz by 32 with him on the court, the best plus-minus in a season opener in franchise history. On October 28, No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa got his, an alley-oop slam three minutes into his debut.

Each of those plays is now a Rookie Debut Moment, and they've never been scarcer. Rookie Debut is minted to /500 this season, half of last season's mint, and the Galactic /5 is the scarcest Rookie Debut we've ever made. See the full rookie roadmap here.

On Wednesday, November 11, the Rookie Debut drop brings the class to NBA Top Shot. It's the first drop of Series 2026-27, and the Moments land on Top Shot before ordering begins, so you can watch every one, make offers and plan your chase.

Five sets, one class

Rookie Debut

A play from each rookie's NBA debut, or his first career basket. Standard /500 · Blockchain /99 · Hardcourt /50 · Galactic /5

  • AJ Dybantsa: the No. 1 pick's first NBA basket, for Washington
  • Cameron Boozer: the No. 3 pick, with a franchise-record plus-32 in his Grizzlies debut
  • Darryn Peterson: the No. 2 pick, on the board less than two minutes into his Jazz debut
  • Caleb Wilson: the No. 4 pick, with 16 points in his first game for Chicago

Only five Galactics of each rookie will ever exist, and for our partnered Top Shot Athlete rookies, all five are signed. See the rest of Signed by the Squad here. 38 rookies are in this drop, and more join the set as the season goes on.

Nearly the whole class comes out at once. Between 95% and 99% of this drop's Rookie Debut supply, across every parallel, is released in Drop 1's packs, and every first-round pick in the drop has all five of his Galactics inside them. The small remainder is held for future drops, and you can check any edition's current supply on Top Shot before you buy.

Rookie Ultimate

Rookie Debut is the first basket. Rookie Ultimate is the whole first game: an extended reel of a rookie's debut, minted once. 1/1

  • Aday Mara: Mara Packs a Floater, a Block and a Slam Into 71 Seconds
  • Darryn Peterson: Peterson's And-One Gives Utah Its First Lead in His NBA Debut
  • Yaxel Lendeborg: Lendeborg Scores at All Three Levels in His First NBA Game

Only one of each exists, and three are hidden in this drop: one in a Premium Pack, one in a Box Topper and one in a Collector Pack.

Season Tip-Off

The top play from every team as the season tips off, and it releases complete in this drop. Standard /199 · Hexwave /25 · Jukebox /10

  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: stretched the longest run of 20-point games in NBA history to 141
  • Anthony Edwards: 45 points, only the third player with 40 or more in multiple openers, joining Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan
  • Luka Dončić: 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in three quarters, with a deep three at the halftime buzzer
  • Cooper Flagg: 29 points and 11 assists to close out Miami

Complete the set and you earn its challenge reward: an exclusive Moment of Jalen Brunson and the Knicks raising their first championship banner in 53 years, on ring night at the Garden.

Fresh Threads

Stars in their first games in new colours. The set stays open through the trade deadline, so the stars who move at the deadline can join it, and then it closes with its own challenge reward. Standard /99 · Hexwave /25 · Jukebox /10

  • LeBron James: a record 24th season opened in a 76ers jersey
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo: 35 points in his first game for Miami after 13 seasons in Milwaukee
  • Paul George: 38 points, the most ever in a Celtics debut, and eighth on the all-time 3-pointers list
  • Jaylen Brown: a third-quarter buzzer-beater to spoil the Knicks' ring night

Base Set

The flagship: one play from every team, growing all season. Standard /4,000 · Club Collection /99

  • Jamal Murray: 42 points as Denver climbed out of a 23-point hole
  • Bilal Coulibaly: the first Wizards player in 51 years with four steals and two blocks in a season opener
  • Scoot Henderson: part of Portland's 25-2 start on the way to a 41-point opening-night rout
  • Tyler Kolek: a steal and a behind-the-back dime that brought Spike Lee out of his seat
  • Kyrie Irving: a long-awaited return, with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting

Scout every Moment before you order

Every Moment in this drop, across all five sets, is minted before ordering opens, so you don't have to take the supply numbers on faith. You can study the whole drop first, and the same tools work on every Moment on Top Shot, any time. Every Moment's page shows its Standard and all of its parallels, and clicking into any parallel opens its analytics:

  • Circulation: how many exist, and where they are right now
  • Price history, low ask history and every sale
  • The top collectors of that Moment, and who owns its special serials
  • The biggest sales over the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days and all time

Below that is a table of every serial: who owns it, whether it's owned, locked, out of circulation or still in a pack, and its price if it's listed. You can make an offer on any single serial, so if you're after a jersey number or a #1, you can go straight to it.

Most useful of all is Remaining in Packs, which shows which pack every unopened copy is sitting in. Chasing a rookie's Galactic, a Jukebox or one exact serial? Click into it and you'll see which pack it's waiting in before you order.

How access works

Access is your chance to order. You still place and pay for your order, and packs are assigned when ordering closes on November 11. There are three ways in:

  • Guaranteed access: your order is filled. It goes to the first collectors to claim each quest below.
  • Early access: you can order from November 5, in an early-access draw with its own set of packs. Every quest earns it, whether you claim before or after the guaranteed spots run out.
  • Public pre-order: opens November 10 for everyone, in its own draw.

Any guaranteed or early-access packs left unclaimed move into the public draw an hour before each close.

Earn your access

Every quest opens Thursday, November 5 at 3:00 PM ET. Each quest you complete is one more order.

Guaranteed access

The first collectors to claim each quest get their order filled.

  • Be #1 on a set leaderboard: hold the #1 spot on any of the 12 Rookie Debut, Season Tip-Off or Fresh Threads set leaderboards at 12:00 PM ET on Wednesday, November 4 for a guaranteed order for a Case and a Box. Leaderboards count locked Moments.
  • Complete Rookie Revelation 2025-26: the first 5 to claim get a guaranteed order for a Case.
  • Complete a Rookie Debut set from any series: the first 20 to claim on each get a guaranteed order for a Box.
  • Complete a Season Tip-Off set from any series: the first 10 to claim on each get a guaranteed order for a Box.
  • Complete a Fresh Threads set from any series: the first 10 to claim on each get a guaranteed order for a Box.
  • Lock a Starting Five: lock five Moments from the same set, from any season. There are four Starting Fives: Rookie Debut, Season Tip-Off, Fresh Threads and Club Collection. Each is its own quest, so completing all four earns four orders. The first 100 to claim on each get a guaranteed order for a Collector Pack.

Early access

Complete a quest after its guaranteed spots are gone and you still get early access to that pack. The order isn't guaranteed, but your odds are better than in the public draw.

  • Rookie Revelation 2025-26: Case early access
  • Rookie Debut, Season Tip-Off or Fresh Threads sets: Box early access
  • Starting Five (any of the four): Collector Pack early access
  • Own any NBA Ultimate Moment: Case early access and Box early access

New to Top Shot?

  • Start with a Collector Pack ($39). Every one holds a Rookie Debut, a Moment from the start of a career you could be watching for years. Public pre-orders open November 10.
  • Rip a $10 pack. Rookie Debut Overtime Packs run after the main drop, eachthemed to a different rookie.
  • Pick your rookie. The new Rookie Debuts from the Tip-Off Packs already trade on the Marketplace, so you can buy the one you want or make an offer before ordering opens.
  • Earn your first early access. Lock five Rookie Debut Moments from any season and you've completed a Starting Five. Plenty of older Rookie Debuts sell for a few dollars, so a Starting Five is within reach.
  • Play Fast Break. Every Pro run this season awards Cases, Boxes and Collector Packs to its top 50. How Fast Break works.
