Every collector knows the feeling of finishing a set. You've chased it all season, kept an eye on every low ask and opened every pack hoping the last piece was inside, and then one night it lands. You lock it in, every slot on the set page fills, and for a second you just sit there and take it in. Maybe it was your first Top Shot set, maybe it was the one you'd been building since opening night.

For years, finishing a set on Top Shot earned you a challenge reward Moment. Last season we tried something new and added exclusive reward packs, with more than 17,500 of them across 32 sets for the collectors who finished them. Those packs carried real chases, including a Cooper Flagg autographed 1/1 inside the Rookie Revelation reward pack.

This season, you get the best of both. Every set comes with a reward for finishing it: the flagship and rookie sets earn an exclusive pack, and every other set earns a challenge reward Moment.

Flagship and rookie sets earn exclusive packs

The flagship sets, Base Set, Metallic Gold LE and Holo Icon, run through every drop of the season. The rookie sets, Rookie Debut, Origins, Freshman Gems and Rookie Revelation, follow this rookie class from their first NBA bucket to the best Moment of their first year. Finish any one of them and you earn an exclusive pack built just for that set, and finishing the set is the only way to get one.

Last season, exclusive packs covered 32 sets. This season they're reserved for these seven, so there are fewer of them, and fewer packs means each one is scarcer with better hits. Finishing a flagship or rookie set is a full-season grind, and the pack at the end of it should feel like it.

None of those packs go to waste, either. Just like last season, any exclusive packs still unclaimed when the challenge window closes get redistributed to the collectors who have the set completed at the snapshot, so finishing the set can earn you more than one.

Challenge rewards are back

Finish any other set this season and you earn a challenge reward Moment made just for that set. Each one is minted to exactly as many collectors as complete the set, so the collectors decide the mint count. If 79 collectors close it out, the reward is a /79.

A set that hundreds of collectors finish makes a reward with a few hundred serials. A Legendary set that only a dozen collectors can close out makes a reward minted for that dozen, so the toughest sets of the season turn out some of its scarcest Moments, and the mint count tells you exactly how many people went the distance with you.

The first one is already here. Season Tip-Off, featuring top plays from every team in the opening week of the season, is the first set of the season with a challenge reward: an exclusive Moment of Jalen Brunson and the Knicks raising their first championship banner in 53 years, on ring night at the Garden.

As each drop approaches, we'll announce its sets and the challenge rewards that come with them, right alongside the drop itself.

The first sets drop next week

Rookie Debut drops Wednesday, November 11, and the first sets of Series 2026-27 come with it. Rookie Debut and Base Set start building toward their exclusive packs, Season Tip-Off releases complete with the Brunson banner waiting for everyone who finishes it, and Fresh Threads stays open through the trade deadline before closing with its own challenge reward. Every set starts at zero, and 2026 Rookie collections officially begin on drop day.
