POSTER TIME!

Carmelo Anthony can put points on the board from anywhere on the floor but there’s nothing quite like taking it straight to the rim. The Denver Nuggets forward flies past his defender with an explosive first step, then rises straight up to crown renowned Portland Trail Blazers shot blocker Theo Ratliff on February 4, 2006. Anthony put up 33 points and eight dimes in the win.

A MASTERCLASS FROM MURRAY!

Jamal Murray waited three long years to be back in the postseason. The payoff was well worth it. Back in the playoffs for the first time since 2020 following a serious knee injury, Murray made up for lost time in Game 2 of the Denver Nuggets’ First Round series with a scintillating performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Murray scored every way imaginable, including spot-up and step-back 3-pointers, midrange fadeaways and a steal on defense that turned into an emphatic fast-break throwdown. Murray posted a team-high 40 points on 13 of 22 shooting — 6 of 10 from downtown — while adding three rebounds, five assists and two steals in the 122-113 victory on April 19, 2023, allowing the Nuggets to take a 2-0 series lead.

THE JOKER DOMINATES!

No matter who was guarding him, Nikola Jokić showed the Phoenix Suns that he’s still got another level to reach. After a long regular season of consistent brilliance, the two-time MVP dominated Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals. Jokić got the best of Kevin Durant on a drive to the basket as well as a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer, and when the Suns sent Deandre Ayton or Jock Landale to try to slow him down, the Joker beat them too with a post-up from the low block and relentless drive in traffic. Jokić converted difficult floaters and even got a desperation shot from the foul line over Devin Booker to fall while absorbing a foul. No matter what the defense threw at him, Jokić had an answer, exploding for a career-high and franchise-record 53 points on 20 of 30 from the field and 11 for 13 at the foul line. An All-Star five straight years, Jokić added four rebounds and 11 assists on May 7, 2023.

THE JOKER FOR THREE!

The Orlando Magic had their sights set on overtime in the Mile High City. Nikola Jokić had other plans. Following an Orlando free throw that tied the game, the two-time reigning MVP stationed himself at the top of the key and waited for his moment to arrive. When Jamal Murray hit Jokić with a pass just inside the arc, the Joker took one dribble backward and drilled the step-back triple over Franz Wagner just before the buzzer to deliver the Denver Nuggets their 13th consecutive home victory. Jokić tallied 17 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists for his 12th triple-double of the season as the Nuggets prevailed 119-116 on January 15, 2023.

MELO FOR THE WIN!

It’ll take more than a bloody nose to knock Carmelo Anthony off his A-game. After securing a pass through an aggressive Phoenix Suns steal attempt at the end of a tied, triple-overtime ball game, the Denver Nuggets forward spins into position for a game-winning mid-range jumper. Despite taking an incidental knee to the face in the third extra frame and wearing the requisite medical accoutrements into the last possession, Anthony finished the January 10, 2006 contest with 43 points.
