NBA Top Shot community: we come bearing gifts. One gift to be more specific. The Gift to be most specific.
This pack is an opportunity for us to say thank you for being a friend of the community and an early adopter of NBA Top Shot. Without your help, we wouldn’t be able to stress test the product, understand what basketball fans crave, and learn how to make our platform truly special for generations to come.
As the lunar calendar flips over, we thought we’d give many of you a little bit of a lucky red envelope. From our collection to yours, we present: The Gift.
It’s our way of saying “thank you” to our best community members for riding this roller coaster with us. This limited-edition pack features one “The Gift” Moment from the 2020-21 season’s first trimester. These are gifts for active human members of our community in good standing who have purchased from other collectors in the community via the official Marketplace. We wanted to reward collectors who are participating in the Marketplace and haven't done anything that was detected as nefarious by the system. We looked at various data points, including Marketplace activity, collection, and other heuristics to detect good standing behavior, favor human accounts, and determine eligibility. Our systems aren’t perfect yet, but if you have any feedback, send us information to help us improve our systems moving forward. This is based on a snapshot taken on February 10th before we minted any The Gift Moments, and not everyone with a Top Shot account will have qualified. Why did I only get one?
These packs are one per collector. As we work to identify multiple accounts held by the same person, which is a violation of our TOS, we’ll get better at delivering awards to the deserving accounts.
